What a great article! It really highlights how important our own choices are in creating the world we want (and, ultimately, need) to live in. Time to take responsibility for our own lives and stop waiting for the government to do something. I have found a lot of inspiration in the Transitions Movement (http://transitionculture.org) and the Ecovillage Movement (http://gen.ecovillage.org) and I'm excited to be introduced to the "Cool Communities" movement.

I appreciate this thoughtful look back and, yet, hopeful look forward. All is not lost. I'm encouraged by the number of people who want to work toward good and change in this world. Thanks for this post.
