“The factory farm industry, allied with the pharmaceutical industry, has more power than public-health professionals.”

Indeed. And this is why I voted no on Issue 2 which would give us 13 private (read corporate) appointed individuals who can overlook all the carp that flows at CAFOs and poultry farms in our state. No thanks. This is a constitutional amendment that will follow the lining already in the pockets of Ohio politicians - that luxurious lining is made possible (just like OSU's land grant hort and ag program's is) by Monsanto, ADM, Cargill, Scott's, Con Agra, the list goes on.

Too late to vote now, but given another chance, I'd still prefer to know my farmers, eat seasonally, have a choice to eat pastured eggs and dairy (sans added hormones and antibiotics) and organically grown produce from small farmers in Ohio - where I live.

Oh, and I will pass on that burger. Haven't had a burger in 30 years predating Eric Schlosser's work. Thanks anyway.
