I’ve been meaning to blog about Nathan Winters of follownathan.org since I met him a few months ago on Twitter, where he professed his love for the Eat Well Guide. Since then, Nathan has embarked on a cross-country bike trip, stopping along the way at small farms, taking amazing photos, shooting tons of video interviews and raising money for the Nature Conservancy. We’ll be doing a more in-depth post singing Nathan’s praises soon (maybe we’ll be able to entice him into a cross-post!) but in the meantime, check out his blog, befriend him on Facebook, follow him on Twitter and consider donating to his cause.
In other following news, our good friend Kim O’Donnel, who I met in April 2008 when I saw she’d mentioned the launch of this blog on her own foodie blog, WashingtonPost.com’s A Mighty Appetite. Since then, Kim has moved to Seattle, and her online cooking chat, formerly known as What’s Cooking (the longest running food chat ever) — has moved to Culinate and been renamed Table Talk. Catch her there Thursdays at 1pm Eastern.
Tomorrow, in what may be her biggest move yet Kim puts AMA “to sleep” and next Wednesday, July 15, she launches her new endeavor, Licking Your Chops, at Trueslant.com. Be there to celebrate the end of an era and the beginning of a new one — Kim is an amazing cook and doing her part to support the real food revolution by sprinkling her delicious foodie content with food policy updates and just as importantly, jogging the world’s memory of how to cook — because even this time of year, when fresh, local produce is practically knocking at your door, it isn’t going to cook itself.
Lastly, Grist just put out a list of top green Tweeters to follow and while Tom Philpott seems to have forgotten us (he’s had a lot on his mind with recent climate legislation) we forgive him. Assuming you’re on Twitter, here’s a bunch more green foodistas for your following pleasure, in completely random order:
@GreenFork (but of course)
@NaomiStarkman (food policy wonkette)
@ethicurean (our first food poli blog love)
@eatingliberally (our girl Kerry Trueman)
@civileats (aka the unstoppable Paula Crossfield)
@locavoreblog (aka new author and prolific blogger Jill Richardson)
@R71 (aka Ralph Loglisci of Center for a Livable Future)
@EdibleSF (aka publisher Bruce Cole)
@brooklynfarmhouse (our friend Megan who demystifies stuff like making butter)
@foodandwater (that’s powerhouse watchdog org Food & Water Watch)
@IATPiatp (the fierce and wonderful Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy)
Apologies to any tweeters we left out — as Tom will attest, there are so many great voices out there, it’s hard to remember them all. Who are your favorites? Tell us in the comments section!

Trying following American Farmland Trust (@farmland) for all of the farm policy updates you could ever hope for.
