Lovely tribute, Regina, and lovingly selected Eleanor quotes, which reveal her vigorous mind and sharp commentary. Like Rachel Carson, she peeled back the layers of deception in a matter-of-fact way, brooking no argument, and she inspired other gardeners to keep up the good and sensible fight of gardening organically. I too garden on the CT coast, somewhat inartfully, and Perenyi's words, in a well-thumbed copy a sweet daughter gifted to me a few years back, is my backyard bible.

I loved Elanor Perenyi. Thanks for writing this post. Her book on gardening is amazing. I re-read it every year.
