Writing today from the Baltimore Bioneers conference, where the WHO Farm bus (which I just wrote about yesterday) pulled up this morning — small world! Not even Fruit Loops? Bad news from Mark Winne and Sam Fromartz at Chews Wise, where they report that wild-swinging buying patterns indicate the recession has officially hit, especially at the food banks, where supplies are dwindling as more people go hungry.

I should mention that the post on the hunger blueprint, and some other recent cool posts, are by graduate student and dietitian Ashley Colpaart, who has been contributing occasionally to U.S. Food Policy.
