Red fish, green fish? Our good friend Kim O’Donnel from A Mighty Appetite gives us a preview of the new eco-friendly sushi guides coming out next week.

For the first time since she got sued by big meat, Oprah takes on food issues — in particular, California’s Proposition 2. If you missed it, pun-loving Kerry Trueman fills you in.

Food prices go up, don’t come down According to the Wall Street Journal, when commodity food prices go up, Big Food companies are quick to pass along price hikes to consumers but loathe to bring those prices down when prices fall, as they recently have. Basically, they’re making out like bandits.

Getting organized (or not) United Farm Workers reports that Country Natural Beef is working an aggressive anti-union campaign, utilizing such tactics as harassing pro-union employees (sometimes by posting their photos in the office) and coercing employees into signing anti-union petitions. UFW is running an action campaign in response.
