It’s settled Menu Foods Inc and other pet food companies involved in last year’s massive recall and resulting scandal have agreed to settle with pet owners for $24 million. (Reuters)
A penny a pound Burger King and Coalition of Immokalee Workers reached an agreement, too– one that will earn tomato pickers an extra penny a pound, their first wage increase in twenty years, effectively ending what has been a long and bloody campaign, one that found Burger King spying on the CIW and affiliated activist group, the Student/Farmworker Alliance, and embroiled, if you will, in a “secret blog” scandal reminiscent of the Whole Foods Rahodeb debacle.
